What Superman's Costume Could Have Looked Like in Man of Steel...

There is no doubt that Man of Steel was a huge hit. Even though the film was mostly well received by both the mainstream and fan communities, the choice of wardrobe for Kal-El was very much in debate. The complaints were rampant; from the lack of the iconic red "underwear", to the muted colors, everyone had an opinion or a gripe. For some, Christopher Reeve and his perfectly-faithful-to-the-comics version of the hero and costume will be the one and only true Man of Steel.

Even though I really enjoyed the reboot, I will always refer to Chris Reeves as the one and only. I mean c'mon; he's the first one who truly made us believe that "a man could fly" as the tagline stated. Perhaps it's childhood sentimentality, but it is what it is.

As anyone can tell you, the clothes make the man, and here are a few of the concepts that were considered in the early stages of development. The first being the costume that actually chosen for the film as your reference point. What do you think? Did they make the right choice? Should they have chosen one of the others, or do they all suck? Sound off below!

Concept Art For Ben Affleck's Batman Costume!

Now before all the fanboys start lighting their torches and setting up the Affleck effigy, this is only about the costume! Just remember; everyone had a fit when Michael "Mr. Mom" Keaton was cast in 1989, and we all know how that turned out!

This is a piece of concept art that has hit the internet featuring a design by comic book artist Steve Scott who worked with Christopher Nolan on The Dark Knight comic book. I seriously doubt this is the design or look they are going for in the movie--this is just his vision of what could be. I kinda dig it - it's got a little "Batman Beyond" thrown in there with the red bat. I love the note at the bottom that says, "Ben wants no bat nipples." I bet that's in his contract.

HEY KIDS!! It's SEXY COSPLAY TIME AGAIN!! 2013 Dragon Con Edition!

Looks like this year was another hot one in downtown Atlanta Georgia! Dragon Con is considered by many to be the East Coast's answer to San Diego's pop culture juggernaut that is Comic Con! The weekend was awash in everything science fiction, gaming, art and pop culture. Oh, did I mention the scantily clad women dressed up as every man's (and geek's) fantasy come to oh-so-sexy life? Yeah, there were a few of those, too.

For you, dear readers, I have toiled long and hard; sifting through a virtual sea of alluring images of beautiful women. It was a difficult and draining task, but I persevered to bring you the cream of the crop, the sexiest of the sexy, the bustiest of the busty, and... well, you get the picture! ENOUGH TALK; let's get to the girls!!

New Promo Ads and Teaser Video For American Horror Story: Coven

AHS: Coven, which stars Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson and Gabourey Sidibe, will explore “themes of race and oppression and family — especially mothers and daughters — along with laughs and scares and a few tears,” exec producer Tim Minear teased at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour last month.

I really liked the first two seasons, with season 2 being my favorite, but so far I'm kinda "meh" on this third installment. Maybe it's because I've never been a huge fan of "witchy" themes, or maybe it's because these promos don't really impress me; remember the promo with the nun with black eyes crying tears of blood from last season? Now THAT was freaky and startling!

Anywhoo, American Horror Story: Coven premieres October 9 at 10/9c on FX. Check out the promos below and tell me what you think!

My Thoughts on Jogging...

I love to bike. I love to walk. I even enjoy a brisk mosey, but I only run when my life and/or my freedom is at stake... seriously; I don't know how people do this shit.

Great Fan Made Film Picks Up Where "The Dark Knight Rises" Left Off!

Machinima has just debuted a new video on their YouTube channel titled "The Dark Knight Legacy" that seeks to function as a sequel to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. Here's their brief intro for the series:
"Dark Knight Legacy is a fan film set one year after the Dark Knight Rises, following "Robin" John Blake's heroic journey to protect the symbol of Batman from the lethal, relentless attacks of a masked vigilante known only as the Red Hood."
An Indiegogo campaign has been put up to fund an entire series worth of videos to tell the story in its entirety.
Check out their initial video below and keep an eye open for the other Batman characters that pop up. What do you think of "The Dark Knight Legacy"? Sound off below!

Haven't Gotten Your Fill of Zombie Shennanigans? Maybe This'll Help...

AMC is in the early development stage for a Walking Dead Spinoff series. While the series will take place in the same apocalyptic world as The Walking Dead, it will feature an entirely different cast and be separate from the comic as well.

Luckily for us, Robert Kirkman (who created the whole thing) will executive produce the new series, along with Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert, so it probably won't suck.

"Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer," said Charlie Collier, AMC's president and general manager. "We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It's a big world and we can't wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse."
Kirkman added, "After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn't be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of 'The Walking Dead' universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn't tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing."

This news comes on the heels of AMC's recent announcement that they will produce "Better Called Saul," a "Breaking Bad" prequel centering on shady lawyer Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk).
Look for the Walking Dead spinoff to hit sometime in late 2015.

This Just in From The Department of DUH!

Best study ever proves booze really does make life better!

Well, that explains a lot.

Turns out a team from the Boston University School of Medicine who've found that folks who drink "in moderation" have a better quality of life than those who completely cut out the booze. I guess that means that I have a damn near perfect quality of life!

The researchers tracked more than 5,000 50 year olds, and discovered that the regular drinkers scored highest when measured on factors including dexterity, emotion, cognition and mobility. "Overall, this study shows a positive relation between regular moderate alcohol intake and quality of life in middle-aged adults," said the study's authors. It's worth noting that their definition of "moderate" alcohol consumption is "no more than 14 drinks a week, and no more than three a day for women and four a day for men." Damn... moderate is four drinks per day? Guess I'd better get crackin' if I'm gonna hit my daily quota
