Flea Market Find!

I was at the Undercover Flea Market in Oxford, ME yesterday and scored a 12" Sideshow Dracula figure in the box for... wait for it... fifteen dollars!!! Now I have Dracula, Frankenstein, Phantom of The Opera as the Red Death, and Lon Chaney as the vampire from "London After Midnight". Interesting fact; there is not a single copy of "London After Midnight" in existence. No shit, really!

  1. You should do the nobel thing and send those on to Monster Cafe Saltillo....

  2. that is a major score... nice catch!

  3. @Matt - that's a great idea, but I think I'll do the selfish thing instead ;-) @Jeremy - I know - I practically tripped over myself running to the register! It was marked as $25, but when I got to the register, they said it was $10 off!

  4. Nice find dude!

As far as London After Midnight is concerned, there is a very small circle of cinephiles that hold a belief that one or two prints may have survived the fire and are currently either sitting in private collections, or are sitting in a warehouse somewhere undiscovered.

The last KNOWN copy was destroyed in the 1967 MGM fire......I cling to the hope that there is another out there.

    1. I've heard that as well. Unfortunately, I've also heard that the movie... well, sucked.

  5. I watched the "reconstructed" version that Turner Classic Movies put out, which was comprised of photographs. It seemed pretty interesting base on that.......maybe someday we'll find out.....or maybe not!
