Portland Maine is Infested...... With RATT!!!

It was a trip back in time to 1984 Thursday night when my buddy of Skelton Crew Studios and I went "round and round" with 80's metal favorites; RATT! It was an absolute BLAST - they played every song I wanted to hear; "You're in Love", "Lay It Down", "Back For More", and of course, "Round and Round"! The band was tight, Stephen Pearcy's vocals were on point and Warren DiMartini was scorching on guitar! My stupid phone ran out of charge before I could take any video, but here's "Round and Round" shot by someone else;

The Black Panther Trailer is Here!

I think it's safe to say that the Black Panther was pretty damn impressive in last year's "Civil War", so it's no surprise that he would get his own solo film. Stuck in development Hell for years and linked to several potential actors, Wesley Snipes being the most prominent, it was Chadwick Boseman who finally landed the coveted role. The Black Panther made his debut waaay back in 1966 in Fantastic Four #52.

From Comic Vine; "T'Challa is the Black Panther, king of Wakanda, one of the most technically advanced nations on Earth. He is one of the top intellects and martial artists in the world, a veteran of the Avengers, and a member of the Illuminati. Using his powers and abilities, he has pledged his fortune, powers and life to the service of mankind". Wakanda is also  one of a handful of places where vibranium (the near-indestructible metal that Captain America’s shield is made of can be found). The Black Panther comes to theaters February 16!

"Under The Shadow" is Absolute Shite....

It's rare that I post about a film solely to bash it, but in this case I will happily make an exception. Under The Shadow takes place in 1988 in war-torn Tehran during the.... "sigh"..... y'know, I'm not even going to explain the plot to you because that would give it a measure of merit that it doesn't deserve. I'll instead reluctantly post the trailer and movie poster ONLY because no one will read this if I don't add something visual.

My wife and I have been on a kick of watching indie horror flicks on Netflix every Saturday night based on their Rotten Tomatoes ratings. For weeks, all was going well until last night. 94 percent. That was it's rating. That means that there was a 94 percent chance that I would like, or even LOVE this movie. I have never felt so lied to and bamboozled! So please, please don't waste your time! Instead, watch "The Hallows", "The Invitation", or "The Canal" - all very well done and entertaining indie horror flicks available on Netflix. HAPPY VIEWING!

And Now in The "Seriously, I Can't Make This Stuff Up" Department...

Fans got more than they bargained for when the Hulk (Lou Ferrigno) and Flash Gordon (Sam Jones) got into fisticuffs at the London Comicon and had to be separated by fans. Check out the lurid details here.

I Don't Usually Go For These, Buuut...

Personally, I've always thought that these "Living Dead Dolls" were strictly for 14 year old Goth girls who hang out at Hot Topic and listen to Bauhaus, but after running into these official "Dawn of The Dead" Flyboy and movie poster zombie dolls at Newbury Comics, I may have to rethink my stance...

New-ish Art

I've been having fun tweaking and combining different old art pieces into something new and then throwing filters over them. I had no idea, but Google Drive has a LOT of different filters you can use on your art and pictures! Here are some of the ones I've done;

New Aquisition!

I just scored the deal of the year with this copy of Journey Into Mystery #109 from 1964! I've been looking for this issue for awhile, but every copy I've come across was overpriced or in immaculate condition and priced accordingly. I found this copy at one of my local comic shops in a box of comics that had yet to be priced, so I asked the owner what he wanted for it. He looks it over and says; "I'd say that's about a good 3.0 - how about $12?" I nearly choked, but I managed to exclaim; "SOLD!!" When I got home, I looked at it more carefully, and I would call it a solid VG/VG+ and worth closer to $70-$75. Oh happy day!!!
