Adventures In The Ice Caves!

Last week I made the 10 minute trek to Greenwood, Maine in search of the fabled ice caves! Legend has it that these caves maintain ice and snow almost year round! I have known about these for years, but there are no signs or directions, and you have to talk to some of the old timers just to find the location.

This is more of a scouting trip as I was alone and didn't want to risk bodily harm by exploring the more expansive and dangerous caverns, but I plan on making another trip with the proper equipment.

If anyone is in the area and would like a guided tour, feel free to contact me and I'll set it up for you!

    1. Yeah, it was a lot of fun, and I barely scratched the surface of what's out there. I want to go back with a group and the proper equipment and explore all of it!

  2. I had no idea there were even ice caves in Maine! You know, as much as I sometimes say that I'd like to see what life is like in other parts of the country.........New England really is the coolest place to live! I'll deny I ever said that once winter hits, of course.....

    1. Well, I'm originally from Alabama, and I hate the Summers there almost as much as I hate Winter here. When I'm rich, I plan on having a Summer place in Portland and a Winter place in Gulf Shores. Best of both worlds!
