This is a big one, "Walking Dead" fans. Chad Coleman has been cast as Tyreese and we may see him as soon as the midseason finale.
Tyreese is one of the most beloved characters from Robert Kirkman's "Walking Dead" comic series, and there's been much speculation among fans that he could finally turn up on the series this season. TVLine is reporting that it's a done deal, but details of how his character will fit into the show's current storylines are still under wraps.
The surprise reveal of Michonne in the Season 2 finale remained a secret until the show aired, and the casting of actress Danai Gurira was announced after the broadcast. It's too bad the arrival of Tyreese won't be as big of a shock for fans, but it's still exciting news.
In the books, Tyreese serves as a strong second in command to Rick after Shane's death, a role which is currently filled by Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon (who doesn't exist in the comics) on the TV series.
Coleman is best known as "Cutty" on HBO's "The Wire," was also a series regular on FOX's "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" and has had guest roles on "The Good Wife," "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "Burn Notice," among others.
