From The Wilds of Monmouth...

Last Saturday night, the wife and I loaded up in the 3-D Monster Van and went up the country on Monmouth, Maine. What the Hell is in Monmouth, Maine you ask? Monmouth is the home base for my buddies the Skelton family; Izzy, his wife Kathryn and their son. Izzy is the founder and master sculptor of Skelton Crew Studios - a company that has been churning out comic-book prop replicas of the highest quality since 2008.

SCS has been making props for IDW’s "Locke & Key" by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, “CHEW” by John Layman and Rob Guillory, published by Image, and “Mouse Guard,” written and drawn by David Petersen and published by Archaia Entertainment.

Izzy and his lovely wife Kathryn invited us to dinner and to "chew" the fat on all things geeky! (didya see what I did there?) A visit to the Skelton's is always a blast because I get to "ooo and awe" over their incredible collection of original art, props, statues, comics and whatever Izzy is currently working on in the moment! Izzy was even kind enough to give me and my kids a copy of my favorite prop key; the Ghost Key!

My very own Ghost Key! YAY!!

 When I got home, I even tried sticking the key in one of my 70 year-old doors, and the damn thing WORKED! Of course, I was too scared to walk through it at that point, but it was cool, nonetheless! Here is a Youtube video of Izzy from the San Diego Comic Con's "Chew" panel earlier this year;

Thanks guys for a wonderful evening, and I wish you all continued success and happiness!
