New Art!

I've always loved that old Life magazine with Adam West as Batman gallavanting on the cover, so I decided to re-create it as a true-to-color single panel print, and as a super-colorful 4-panel print. Buy one today here!

Skirting The Copyrights....

Fineskellington posted these great images of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back "Peter Pan" book and record sets. Don't quite know why they were allowed to use the name, characters, and music from the films and not the images, but the copyright gods can be fickle. Not that I would know anything about that.

My Angry Tirade For The Day...

Well, today is our closing day for our new house! Well, actually, today was SUPPOSED to be the day, but apparently either the underwriter or Maine State Housing is dragging their a$$, and we won't be closing today!!! Which is especially awesome, because this is the SECOND time we've had our closing date moved; the first being Nov. 13!!!! I am sooo sick of the delays and the "oh, we're actually going to need another $700 for whatever reason at the last minute". Also, I really wanted to get our tree and decorate for Christmas this weekend! AARGHH!!! Plus, we are getting really low on heating oil, and I'll be damned if I have to order any more this late in the game! OK, I'm done with my angry rant for the day... talk amongst yourselves.

New Wall Art

My wife and I have been glued to the laptop all weekend looking for art for our new house. I have seen so much gorgeous art that it is incredibly overwhelming! Pictured above is what we've ordered so far, except for the Shepard Fairey and Superman vs Ali - that's what I want to order next.

10 Best Post-Apocalyptic Vehicles

Jalopnik has posted a great list of what you should be driving after the end of the world. The list is pretty well done, but I would have liked to have seen the modified mall shuttle complete with "chainsaw slits" on the sides from 2004's "Dawn of The Dead". I picked my favorites above - you'll recognize the first one from the comedy classic; "Stripes". Via Neatorama

One Door Closes, Another Opens...

Well, my deal to purchase a comic rack from my neighborhood general store has fallen through, so now I am in negotiations to procure an old "spinner rack" from my favorite antique store; "The Undercover Antique Mall". As this will be the focal point of my new home office, I WILL have one! I'm also gonna stock it with only titles from 1976 - the year I began collecting at the wee age of four. I know, I'm an Uber-geek. I'm not ashamed.

New Ironman 2 Photo!

This cover of Empire Magazine couldn't be more epic - I am sooo excited to see this! Via SuperHeroHype.

Road Warrior Weekend!

LA Weekly reported on a one-time only, Mad Max; Road Warrior Weekend in the So Cal high desert that featured camping, cosplay, Thunderdome battles, Interceptor races, a real Gyrocopter and more. And the chicks, man, THE CHICKS!!! Via Boing-Boing

This is Too Weird!

Okay, I'm playing on the internets this morning, and I say to myself; "Hey - I wonder if my new Mechagodzilla art print will show up on a google image search". It didn't, but I found the two paintings shown above, and I SWEAR that I didn't copy either! I think they even used the same source photo that I used. Crazy, huh?

New Art!

I just finished my homage to Japan's favorite bionic dinosaur; "MECHAGODZILLA". I actually did four different versions with different color combinations, but I settled on the traditional colors. Be the first to add it to your art collection here!

New Swag...

Last night I scored the Silver Centurian Ironman figure from Marvel's 3 3/4" line of action figures, and I am totally diggin' the detail and metallic paint job that they have! I want to get the red & gold version as well as the original Ironman to finish up the collection.

This'll Make You Smile....

My wife and I were talking about how we both loved this cartoon when we were kids - I wonder if they have it on DVD? Be sure to watch the whole thing for the Spanish intro as well.

The Justice Society Comes to Smallville!

Set to air on Friday, January 22, Smallville features the debut of the Justice Society, and it looks freakin' sweet!!!

DREDD Returns to The Screen?

Former 2000AD artist Mark Simpson, known under the pen name "Jock" recently twitted about a meeting with DNA films in London regarding a Judge Dredd film project. Here is the original tweet;

"then a DREDD movie meeting with DNA in london on monday. really glad not to be missing this weekend."

No director as yet has been confirmed for the comic book project. Maybe after the Monday we'll have much more news."

The movie is set up with DNA Films and Fox Searchlight. Producer is Allon Reich who did (28 Weeks Later) and his partner in crime Alex Garland too is writing the film. Pictured above is some of the conceptual art he created for the meeting. After the 1995 Stallone debacle, I certainly hope they get it right this time! I would love to see either an unknown, Clive Owen or Gerard Butler as Dredd, but he'll need to keep the helmet on for all or most of the movie! I would also love to see Judge Death and the other Dark Judges as the main villains. This is one of the best sci-fi comics of all time, and the movie-makers have a golden opportunity to have a seriously viable franchise on their hands as long as they remain faithful to the source material.

Out of Commission!

Hey gang! I am moving around as little as possible today as I think my foot is either broken or sprained; when we were in R.I., our hotel room was steaming hot, so I tried to open the window. I couldn't get much leverage b/c the heater was in the way, so I squatted on top of the heater cover, gave it my best clean jerk, and BAM! the friggin' heater cover falls away from the wall that it wasn't even attached to, and I land on my foot right on the edge of the wood. Amy and I can literally see it swell like a balloon within like, a minute! I thought for sure it was broken, but, long story short; I iced the Hell out of it, was able to limp around and enjoy the rest of the trip, and it gradually felt better.
Cut to this past Sunday - we go up to Bethel & I try out the new skate park there. I have one good wipeout, but I shake it off and skate a little more. Next morning it is KILING me! It hurts even more this morning, so I made a doctor's appointment for tomorrow, but I hope I can wait that long as I can barely put any weight on it, and it's wicked swollen again as you can see in the pic. AND, we are set to close on Monday and start moving in, so I really don't see how the timing could be more perfect!

Excellent Retro Art!

Ben Balistreri created this TOTALLY AWESOME piece of art titled; "80's Movie Villain Cocktail Party" for the "Hey You Guys" charity event that will go towards supplying needy classrooms with art supplies. Damn, I wish I could bid on this!

Things You Can't Un-See Part 7!
