Another Example of The Death of Culture & Art in America

I have been into Tiki art & culture for some time now, and get super-excited anytime I see a towering totem or a thatched roof while driving down the highway, I almost wreck the car trying to turn off! Unfortunately, these monuments to a time gone by are swiftly disappearing from our American landscapes. While looking through Flickr, I ran across a photo-essay on the destruction of the Kahiki Supper Club in Colombus, Ohio; one of the most famous polynesian restaurants in the world. I was even more sadened to learn that it was being torn down to make way for a Walgreens drug store. So get out and enjoy our architectural and historic trasures while you can, before they are all replaced with Walgreens, Wal-Marts or any other number of soul-less eyesores. See the Flickr set Here. Also, This is a great site for Tiki Culture - enjoy!
